Yes, the struggle is real! No matter what your story or circumstances, each of us is struggling with our own “stuff” made more difficult by politics, war, violence, pandemic, and economy.
For those of you who don’t know me well, I have struggled with anxiety for most of my life. Let’s face it… some days are easier than others, but either way the struggle is very real.
Here are 4 tips to help you keep moving forward:
1. ACCEPT things are tough right now.
You are not a superbeing. There is so much going on in the world today. You are may be less than your best and it is OK! We are all struggling to some degree so you are not alone.
2. GRACE - give yourself some grace.
Cut yourself some slack and stop trying to maintain the same expectations for yourself that you did when you weren't feeling so overwhelmed, anxious, or stressed.
3. SELF-CARE - make sure you do your self-care!
Find your favorite thing that helps recharge you and brings you joy or happiness and then DO IT even if you go for a 10 minute walk or sit outside and look at the beautiful fall leaves.
4. All it takes is doing ONE THING.
Even if you are feeling unmotivated, look at your list of priorities (to-do list) and pick one thing to do. Then when that is complete, pick one more thing.
The self-care mission this week is to know that you are not alone, the struggle is real, and pick one of the tips to help you move through the day.
