Being Intentional

January 26th, 2021

“If you’re going to grow, you have to be intentional.” ~ Curt Kampmeier

What does being intentional really mean? In the dictionary, it is defined as “doing something on purpose”. We do stuff “on purpose” all day long, right!?

I choose the word “intentional” as my word for 2021 and I needed to take a look on how I could take my “on purpose” actions one step further. The best way for me to describe this process is by giving you examples.

  • When standing in line, doing dishes, or brushing teeth, intentionally pull your shoulders up and back and engage your tummy muscles.
  • When talking to someone, intentionally put your phone down and actively engage with them - a very good practice to use with spouses and kids and well, EVERYONE!
  • When grabbing a quick snack, take a moment and intentionally look at what you have chosen and is there any way to make it healthier AND then sit down while eating to fully engage with the eating process.

These are just a few ways to be more intentional with actions you perform every day, all day long. After some practice they will become a habit and before you know it you are feeling better, standing taller, and making better food choices.

How can you be more intentional today? Text me at 704-564-2055 and let me know. Would LOVE to hear from you!

Stay strong. Stay healthy. Stay self-caring.

Hugs, Rita 🙂
