“Yay Me!” Moments
When was the last time you gave yourself a high five, fist bump, or “yay me!” for something you accomplished, a project you completed, or did some self-care?
Over the last few months, I have been staying in bed in the morning longer than probably necessary. Please don’t get me wrong … I think sleeping in can be great self-care. I feel I just have become a little too complacent about not getting up. I lean towards being more of an early bird more than a night owl as I do NOT do late nights well at all so lately it has been "early to bed and late to rise!".
Finally! After much discussion (with myself), I did it! I got up at 6 am, grabbed my cup of coffee, and stood outside for a few minutes listening to the birds. And yes, I did the “yay me!” cheer. (Hopefully, the neighbors' blinds were closed and they were still sleeping! lol)
So this morning, stand up and yell “yay me!’ and congratulate yourself on something you have accomplished … even if it is getting out of bed on time.
It is the simple things we do for ourselves that will remind how much we deserve to take care of ourselves, be good to ourselves, and love ourselves.
“YAY YOU!!!!!!!”
