It’s a busy time of year, no doubt. The holiday parties and preparations are in full swing. Christmas Day is less than a week away.
However, this is NO excuse not to get your proper sleep.
Sleep is even more important now because we are so busy and our immune systems are being weakened by stress overload AND fighting off the COVID, flu, and RSV viruses.
Here are some tips below to help you get more sleep and calm that bedtime brain chatter:
Schedule time in your calendar to rest, recharge, and reset.
Take an afternoon nap.
Journal or read a book before you go to sleep to allow your brain to wind down.
Make your lists prior to bedtime to get all those things swirling in your head OUT of your head and onto paper.
Take a warm bath prior to bedtime. Add some epsom salts and lavender essential oil.
Shut electronics off 30-60 minutes BEFORE bedtime.
Keep the lights low in your house in the evening to signal to your brain it is time to slow down,
You guessed it! Your self-care challenge this week is to make sure to get some good sleep by using one of those tips listed above.
Here is to getting more zzzzzz’s this week!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night (sleep)!
Big Hugs, Rita 🙂
