6. Spiritual Wellness

Spiritual wellness is defined as expanding your sense of purpose and finding meaning in your life along with living a life that reflects your values and beliefs. It may or may not involve religious activities.

WHY is spiritual health so important?

Spiritual wellness acknowledges our search for deeper meaning in life and helps us feel more connected to not only a “higher power”, but also to others around us.

Spiritual wellness is very personal and will look different for everyone.

Spiritual wellness practices may include:

> praying

> taking part in organized religion,

> spending quiet time alone pondering the meaning of life

> building awareness through journaling

> serving your community

> spending time in nature

> appreciating music and the arts

> meditation, yoga

> reading scripture

This week the challenge is… you guessed it… working intentionally on improving your spiritual wellness. Ask yourself, which example above  resonates the most with me and what can I do right now to help keep my spiritual wellness healthy?
