We just got a puppy about 3 weeks ago and yes, they are a lot of work especially with making all those trips outside trying to get them NOT to poop and pee in the house - always a challenge.
I found myself getting annoyed because I had to take her outside AGAIN… for the gazillionth time (ok, a slight exaggeration) this morning hoping she would just hurry up and do her business!
Hmmm… getting annoyed at my puppy for wanting to run around outside. That just might be a little red flag of warning that I am letting things I can NOT control stress me out. (Can anyone relate?)
Being purposeful and intentional, I have decided to really enjoy these moments by enjoying the sights and sounds of outside. I make sure I take a few deep breaths and just be still to relax and ground myself.
I have even taken advantage of some of these puppy pauses to do a few exercises outside… squats, step-ups (using our deck stairs), upright push-ups using our trampoline frame to support myself, or maybe even chase her to get a few more steps.
My self-care mission for you this Thanksgiving week is to turn an annoying situation or moment into a self-care moment to pause and lower your stress level.
How can you turn that stress-INducing situation upside down into a stress-REducing situation?
I am so very grateful to have you in my stress less community.
Be good to yourself… you deserve it!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!!
Big Hugs, Rita 🙂
