Are You OK... really?

“You have permission to rest. You are not responsible for fixing everything that is broken. You do not have to try and make everyone happy. For now, take time for you. It’s time to replenish.”

Breaking my 8 week wellness series for a moment… 

Sometimes it is so hard to admit that you are tired and need to rest. I left home last week for my trip to Canada stopping in Vancouver and my home town to tie up some loose ends after my Dad’s passing last year. My first time “home” since before COVID.

I didn’t realize how emotionally and mentally exhausted I was until I got here and had a chance to be in a completely different environment alone.

You know… it is so easy to keep on going and going and going thinking you are doing ok and ignoring the red flags your body and brain are sending you.

The important thing is we need to pay attention to those little red flags!! I mean, really pay attention or we will suffer the consequences. 

The consequence I am suffering with is the development of a very weird itchy heat rash. Yikes! I know, you are thinking, “Thank you so much Rita for sharing. I did NOT need to know that!” LOL

I only share with tidbit of info with you to help you understand that just because I teach this stuff and live it daily, I am not immune to not paying attention to me and my stuff, too.

Self-care and stress-busting and awareness is a process and will continue to evolve for as long as we are alive

My self-care challenge for you this week, my friends, is to intentionally and purposefully check in with yourself to see if you are OK. 

If not, take the extra time to rest… do it and take the time! Nothing is more important than you and your health. Without it, we don’t have the best you!

If you are doing ok, great! Keep up the self-care and it’s ok to take some extra rest, too!
