Clarity vs Chaos

Ever wonder why life can feel so out of control the busier you and your life gets? You are rushing to get the kids where they need to be or maybe rushing to beat your next project deadline or maybe you have just said “yes” to too many things or just trying to keep your head above water.

What a perfect demonstration of how rushing around “stirs” up our lives and creates chaos whereas if we just stay still and take a moment to pause, things can settle and we can have clarity and make better decisions.

 

Being the science nerd I am, I can tell you why this works - when you are still and calm, you let your brain know you are not threatened or in danger so your nervous system can switch to RESTING and DIGESTING allowing blood flow to shift in your brain to the “good decision maker” (aka the Prefrontal Cortex, in case you were wondering! bahahaha).

So this week, my friend, let’s work on finding more moments of clarity, by being intentional and creating our still moments.

It only takes 30 seconds to calm your nervous system down!
