It is very hard to believe that Christmas will be here the weekend after next!
Here we are rushing around trying to get everything done and then some. In these frantic moments we easily forget how simple it is to just take a moment to relax, reset, and recharge.
To take a moment to be still and take a few deep breaths - how hard can that be?!
It only takes 30 seconds to switch from Hurry-and-Flurry mode (aka flight or fight response) to Reset-and-Be-More-Present mode (aka resting and digesting response).
The simplicity and power of simple self-care is in that moment of pause between those two slow, deep breaths.
It’s the moment we let our bodies, minds, and spirits take a brief break to just be.
It’s the moment we let ourselves know we are enough and we deserve the time to take care of ourselves.
The expectations of this season have, in some cases, become very unrealistic and daunting (… refer to last week’s post for more on that topic).
This week I encourage you to focus on pausing regularly during your busy day to take those deep breaths and enjoy the pauses in between those breaths... because YOU are worth it!
My prayer for you is to find some peace this holiday season in the rest between those two deep breaths.
