Cut Yourself Some Slack

When was the last time you were OK with NOT getting all the things on your to-do list done? 

How about NOT berating yourself for not finishing all your weekend projects? 

How about feeling good about taking some downtime watching TV or maybe even taking a whole day to read, relax, or just chill?

Our bodies and brains need downtime to rest, recharge, and repair even more so with all the extra stressors we are dealing with these days. 

You know the BIG stressor stuff… economy, rising prices, catastrophic weather disasters, war, elections, environmental concerns. 

Oh, then there is all the “little” stressor stuff… paying bills, working from home or going into the office, kids, teenagers, all the little body aches & pains, relationships, deadlines, running late for work, the traffic, road rage, stupid people and the list goes on.

I hate to break it to you… 

you are NOT a superhero with unlimitless energy and body resources. 

Nope! So, therefore, you need to take care of the body and brain you have.

Take some time off to relax and do nothing.

Enjoy that hobby you have been putting off for awhile.

Start that new book you’ve got sitting on your shelf (or kindle).

Watch a funny movie.

Take a nap.

My self-care mission for you this week is to do something healthy to relax, reset, repair and recharge your mind and body. 

AND please cut yourself some slack!
