The 8 Pillars of Wellness

In the last couple of months I have written about the 8 pillars of wellness.

In review, the pillars consist of environmental, community, intellectual, physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, and occupational wellness

(If you have missed the posts about any of them, the links are below.)

Life is made up of many pieces or “pillars” that hold up our wellbeing and health. It would be impossible to be able to give all of these pillars equal time all at the same time, however, what we can do is assess which of those is lacking at this moment and then pick ONE to focus on for a few days, a week, a month…

REMINDER: Life is not a sprint. Life is a marathon and a process. The only finish line we have is the one when we cease to exist in this earthly world.

By the way, in case you were wondering, there are NO rewards for working the most hours, sleeping the least hours, putting yourself down the most, being the most stressed, most miserable, or never being grateful and content with what you have at any given moment.

My self-care mission for you this week is to set aside a few minutes to assess your 8 pillars of wellness. Which one do you feel is lacking the most at this time? Revisit the specific self-care post to find one thing to start building that pillar up.

Keeping it simple by doing one thing at a time.

Hugs, Rita ❤
