Look down at your feet while standing and draw an imaginary circle around them.
Inside the circle is what you CAN control and outside that circle is what you can NOT control.
At church this past Sunday, I had a great conversation with one of my church family. She reminded me (thank YOU Charlotte!) that if I looked down at my feet and drew an imaginary circle around them, everything inside the circle (me) I have control over, however, everything OUTside of the circle, I have NO control over.
What a great reminder as we deal with difficult and often stressful situations! The only thing we can control in an uncontrollable situation is how we react. That’s it. It is always up to us to make the choice of how to respond, if we get involved, or we start trying to control someone else’s actions. Control only what you can.
Your self-care mission this week is to re-draw your imaginary circle around your feet, remind yourself that this is all you have control over, and enjoy your week.
