One’s Purpose

purpose

Knowing one’s purpose. One’s mission. I don’t know how many people are actually aware that they have a life purpose and mission let alone know what it is and are connected to it.  For the past 8 months, I have been working with business coaches and I have come to realize how important it is to be aware of this purpose. Knowing, can give you motivation, energy, and clarity and simply stated, your life purpose is the reason you do what you do.  It makes you who you are. With the coaching, I feel I have truly discovered my purpose and am very honored and fortunate that I can also live it by helping others.

The other day I experienced a moment where this purpose was reaffirmed and I was so thankful that I decided to become a massage therapist 13 years ago. This moment may not seem much to outsiders, but I feel very honored to have had this experience. On Wednesday, I saw a new massage client. She has had massages before, but this was her first time with me. She was very knowledgeable about her health history and used all the appropriate medical terms. To tell the truth, I was quite impressed with her vocabulary. During the massage, she commented several times on how wonderful the massage felt which certainly made my day! The whole session was pure joy and I truly felt I had made a difference in her life and put a little spring back into her step. By now, you may be wondering how is this different from all my other sessions with clients? This new client is 93 years old and I got the chance to ease the pain of her aging.

My life’s purpose doesn’t get any better than this!
